Israel claims to have killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar

Israel has killed Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar - the country's foreign minister Israel Katz has claimed. On Thursday (17 October) this information was reported by the news agency Reuters.

Tel Aviv claimed that the Hamas leader was killed in an Israeli operation in the southern region of Zar. Earlier, Israel investigated and verified rumors of Yahya Sinwar's death. Meanwhile, the Palestinian independence organization Hamas has not commented on this yet.

Incidentally, Yahya Sinwar has served almost 22 years in Israeli prison. He was considered one of the masterminds of the attack on Israel on October 7. He was appointed as the head of Hamas in July this year after the death of Ismail Haniya.
